You have the most powerful AI ever built. You're still copying and pasting.
I timed a normal working day once. 244 window switches an hour. Ask the AI, copy the answer, switch to the real work, paste, run it, it breaks, copy the error, switch back, paste, ask again. All day.
A racehorse, led around by a rope.
Everyone bought the same horse. Your competitor runs the same models, same price, cheaper every month. The model was never going to be the advantage.
The advantage is the harness. The single surface where you and the AI work the same thing at the same time. Almost no one has built it.
The history is worth knowing. The first horse harness ran a strap across the throat, so the harder the animal pulled, the less it could breathe. Then came the collar, load on the shoulders instead, and one horse did the work of a whole team. Same horse. The leap was the harness.
The tools in front of you today are harnesses too. Claude Desktop, Cursor, Codex. Each one real, each one built to keep you behind its own glass. They will swap the model inside in a heartbeat, but they will never take the shape of your work. You take theirs. They lay out the windows and the panels, the work surfaces inside their flow, and the only way you get at it is to copy it out or download a file. Bend your work to the tool long enough and everything you have built lives inside their walls. That is how they hold you.
A harness that fits only their horse is a saddle.
So I built the one that works the other way around. It takes the shape of your work, not the reverse.
You don't open apps. You say what you need and a companion builds the surface for it, a chart, a console, a whole room, whatever the task wants. You and your AI work that surface at the same time, the same live thing, not a box you copy answers out of or download a file from. Your team can be in there with you. When the work is done the surface can go with it, or stay and get reused, or evolve into something better for next time. Ephemeral is the assumption, not the rule. Nothing to file, nothing to lose.
Any model, any agent framework, even a CLI. It runs on your machine, your work and your history stay there, and the shape stays yours. Take it anywhere, or take nothing. The door is never locked.
Rent the horse. Own the harness.
Port42 is the harness. It runs on your Mac, and it takes any model, agent framework, or CLI you bring.
